1 pound asparagus
Salt and pepper
1. Preheat oven to 400* F.
2. Wash asparagus well, break off tough ends, and lay on paper towels to dry.
3. Use a baking dish that will hold the asparagus in one layer. A shallow 9x13 pan usually works well. Drizzle in a small amount of olive oil, add asparagus and roll it around to coat with oil (or spray with an oil mister).
4. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper. Place in preheated oven, bake 3-4 minutes.
5. Remove from oven, grate cheese over asparagus, and return to oven for 1-2 minutes until cheese is slightly melted and browned. Use your broiler if you wish and if your baking dish is broil proof.
